The safety, health and environmental systems (SH&E) incorporated at WDC utilize world wide safety standards and best management practices specific to the drilling industry. WDC consistently performs well below the national average of comparable companies in lost time incident rate, total recordable incident rate and EMR.

The WDC SH&E system begins with training (available in English and Spanish). Training begins on day one of an employee’s tenure with a New Hire Orientation. Safety Coordinators and Field Managers continue an employee’s education through the tasks of helper, driver, operator, driller and supervisor. Safety and operational training never stops at WDC.

Another key element of the system is inspections and auditing. WDC has created an industry leading inspection program for all equipment and job sites. Our standard is set much higher than legislative requirements and incorporates daily, monthly and annual inspections of all equipment. The entire program is audited by dedicated safety professionals for 100% compliance.
