In the event of an incident, WDC utilizes a root cause analysis based investigation program that involves all levels of work from the injured employee to the Company President. Results are communicated to all operations and corrective actions implemented to prevent recurrence. In the unfortunate event of an employee injury, WDC has an aggressive claims management and return to work program.

Proactive safety never rests at WDC. A full time safety department is employed not only focuses on the aforementioned items, but to create job hazard analysis’ (JHA) and safe work procedures (SWP) to ensure consistent and effective work practices. The “New Rig Advantage” supports the SH&E program by allowing a degree of standardization among work procedures and eliminating “equipment failure” as a contributor to incidents. “Near miss’ reporting, employee safety awards and safety committees compliment the entire program.

Our SH&E program has been quite successful and continues to develop. While our numbers reflect this success, our desire is that every employee goes home to their family safe at the end of the day. Every incident free day is a good day; and every new day refocuses our attention on our goal to be the safest drilling company in the world!
