Solids Separation

All Mud Rotary Drilling rigs are supported by state of the art solids separation equipment consisting of trailer mounted units equipped with desilters, desanders, linear multiple stage scalper shakers, transfer pumps, mixing and flow tanks, agitation guns and mud mixing equipment.

Key to the success of mud rotary drilling is maintenance of consistently mixed low solids mud systems. By doing this, the beneficial properties of additives in engineered fluids systems are maintained for efficient hole cleaning and improved drill penetration. Hole erosion is minimized by laminar fluid circulation, made possible by the continuous action of the solids separation equipment.Linear motion shakers have proven to be much more efficient than the standard oscillating units. Gun type jet pumps are located in the main fluids tank to further minimize bentonite losses and to maintain consistent smooth flow by continuous agitation.

Our standard solids separation equipment sets WDC apart from other drilling companies by providing the ability to maintain a drilling fluid suspended solids content of 0.25% or less. The WDC drilling fluids program is vital to providing our clients with highly efficient wells with drastically reduced well development times. There is no comparison to mud programs utilizing dug pits or inferior above ground solid separation technology.
