Down Hole Casing Advance (Overburden Drilling Systems)

Overburden drilling systems provide for efficient and reliable drilling through the most difficult and challenging environments. Large cobbles, boulders, fractured volcanic materials, caliche and alternating unconsolidated/consolidated formations can be successfully penetrated using one of several different overburden drilling methods.

WDC owns and operates tooling that includes, Symmetrix, Odex and Stratex overburden drilling systems. Each of these drilling methods include the advancement of an outer flush-threaded, steel casing through the action of an inner string of drill pipe, down hole hammer and drive shoe.

Upon reaching total depth, the inner string of drill pipe and bit are removed allowing for the placement of well materials. The steel casing is then pulled from the hole using hydraulic casing jacks.
